Looking for foods that will help your weight loss efforts? Here’s our great list of five foods that burn fat and make you feel full longer.

Warning: they can be extremely tasty when cooked right. Shall we begin?

1. Cheese

It’s made from a variety of milks, contains loads of muscles-building dairy protein, makes you feel full for much longer than other products and it’s just so tasty… Have in mind that gras-fed animals produce healthier milk, so if it’s written on the label, choose it.

Some cheeses, though, are quite calorie-rich. Buy softer ones such as cottage cheese (100kcal and 4g fats per 100 grams), plain fresh cheese (115kcal and 6g fats per 100 grams) or medium fat soft spread cheese (180kcal and 14g fats per 100 grams). For more information on the content of different cheese types, check out this table.

2. Milk

It’s strange why many people stop drinking milk from their teenage years, thinking that it’s for small kids.

But there’s a reason why we give it to our toddlers – it’s low in fat (especially skim milk), contains lots of easy-to-metabolize protein because it’s a liquid, and fills your blood up with calcium, which is good for your bones, teeth and helps your organism burn fats.

Oh, did I forget to mention that it fills you up for much longer than soda drinks?

3. Oranges

Yet another food that effectively burns fat is the orange.

Inside an orange can be found huge resources of Vitamin C, pectin and fiber. That’s why it’s one of the most satisfying fruits on the planet! Oranges were the highest-ranked fruit on the “satiety index,” a list of 38 filling foods put together by Australian researchers, shares Health Magazine.

It’s always refreshing, boosts your immune system thanks to all the vitamins inside and helps you lose weight successfully. I doubt you need more reasons to go to your local shop and purchase a kilo or two today.

Oh, and according to recent news from researchers, oranges have a major role in preventing cancer. America’s National Cancer Institute calls oranges a complete package of every natural anticancer inhibitor known.

4. Eggs

High in natural protein, able to keep your levels of cholesterol healthy, bearers of Vitamin B12 and hunger-tamers, eggs should be your number one choice when looking for weight loss foods that burn fat.

For best dietary effects, boil them and serve in a sandwich with black bread, turkey ham a slice of tomato and mustard. You won’t be sorry for eating this quick dish.

5. Dark chocolate

You never thought that something as sweet as chocolate could help you lose weight, did you?

Well, never underestimate the nutritional power of dark chocolate – with its 170 calories per ounce, it’s a great way to satisfy your sweet cravings and feel full for longer. The reason behind this is that compounds of this dark desert slow down metabolism, slowing down your hunger cravings.

At least that’s what a respectable study by the University of Copenhagen concluded.

One of the biggest weight loss challenges is beating those nasty hunger pains in the middle of the night. But are they really that harmful and should you avoid them at all costs? After all, a proper nutritional balance is vital for achieving your desired figure, meaning that you should intake just the ammount of energy that your body needs.

The organism degrades muscles into energy when it has no food left and that’s the main reason why body builders eat all the time, no matter if at day or nighttime.

If your goal is to gain weight so as to build muscles, midnight snacks are the perfect way to do so. But if you’re looking to lose weight, than you will have to find a way to control nighttime hunger. So here are some great tips on how to actually do that:

Avoid hot meals for dinner, as they tend to increase your appetite.

Drink more liquids (including water) before bedtime. They give you the impression that you’re full.

Wash your teeth after you finish dinner and not before you go to bed. The reasons are deeply psychological, as the process of washing your teeth is associated with end of mealtimes.

Find an alternative to eating, because many people like you do it of boredom.

You can tame appetite with pressure, according to Reader’s Digest: when you feel weak-willed against your appetite, try pinching the small area of cartilage where your jaws hinge just below the ears, which some acupuncturists claim is an appetite control point. Hold for about half a minute.

Snack wisely. Grapes and oranges are one of the most satisfying foods.

So in case you’re looking for weight loss, try to snack as least as possible after 19:00 to 20:00pm, especially after you have these six power-helpers in mind.

Cutting your daily calories consumption is an essential for successful weight loss. There’s no need to become fanatic about what you eat, because some very simple changes in your everyday routine can virtually make wonders.

Ten kisses per day, for example, can burn up to 120 calories. But let’s see what else is on my list of 9 great and (some of which) unusual ways to reduce your daily calories intake.

Note that you can’t start putting each of the following tips in practice from day one. So why not try to introduce one fat binding lifestyle change per week, so that you can get used to doing it regularly, and then start with another. That’s a fitness system that I’ve been using for more than an year and it’s really effective.

1. Get more (quality) sleep. A recent study by the University of Chicago says that people who get less than six hours of sleep eat more throughout the day. Around 1,000 calories more, to be precise.

So make your room as dark as possible when bed time comes. Turn off completely your TV and any other appliances that have red or blue LED lights, as they tend to distrupt your sleep. Install a set of curtains if light enters your room during the night. Only by doing these two simple things, I personally managed to increase the quality and quantity of sleep, keeping me fresh in daytime and relaxed at nights.

2. Use smaller plates. It’s a universial dieting rule that small meals appear bigger in small plates than they do in big ones. This trick is deeply psychological and it works for everybody. So start fooling yourself that you’re eating more when you’re actually cutting down portions.

3. Go sugar-free. When possible, drink Coca Cola Light instead of ordinary Coke. If possible (depending on how much will you have), avoid Cola at all. It contains a lot of sugar, sweeteners and many other unneeded-calories sources.

Instead, drink much more water so that you don’t get thirsty enough to want a Coke. I always carry a bottle of water with me so that I have something to sip.

4. Drink green tea. Lots of it. Did you know that only one cup of green tea can accelerate your metabolism by 3% helping you burn more than 65 calories daily? I have many friends whose daily portion of green tea is between 4 and 6 cups. They have less fat than others, feel better and look healthier. I won’t get into the depths of tea benefits for the human body but I will say that many studies have proved what I was just talking about tea.

5. Prepare your food properly. Choose steamed or grilled food using healthy fats like olive oils. Don’t go for fried foods, white-bread sandwiches and burgers. When in need of a quick snack, eat whole-grain toasts with ham, cheese and vegetables.

6. An apple a day keeps the calories away. Nuts taste great, but they’re rich in calories, so they’re something to avoid for most dieters. Instead, choose an apple which is much healthier, light and just as tasty. An ordinary apple contains no more than 110 kcal, nothing that ten simple kisses can’t burn.

7. Chicken time! This is probably something you’ve already heard, but chicken contains less calories than beef or pork. Plus, it has almost no fats, which is something to consider when trying to successfully lose weight. And don’t forget about fish, your best friend in your fat binding journey.

8. Cucumbers burn much more calories than they contain. So treat yourself to a nice salad with cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes for a healthy organic meal. Watermelon and celery have the same kcal reducing effect.

Yup, chewing gum has been officially proved to help you lose weight.

9. Chewing gum help you slash calories, according to a nutrition professor named Kathleen Melanson at the University of Rhode Island studying the effects of chewing sugar-free gum on weight management.

Feel free to check out more information on the study from Science daily. To sum up, people who chew gums consume 67 calories less at lunchtime and don’t get as hungry as others between mealtimes.

Remember: small changes lead to big results. Less calories mean less excess fats and less worries. There’s no need to get freaky and mathematical about the ammount you take. Just make those nine simple and effective lifestyle changes that will eventually help you become thinner.
